Driving and Ferry From Vancouver Island

In the summer, 01 June to 30 September, reserve passage on British Columbia Ferries service from Port Hardy (Vancouver Island) to Prince Rupert: www.bcferries.com.

If on the mainland, drive to Horseshoe Bay, North of Vancouver, and take the regular Vancouver Island ferry, www.bcferries.com, then drive to Port Hardy.

During the height of vacation season arrive at Horseshoe Bay early on a weekday if possible to avoid line-ups. The motor vessel "Queen of the North" operates a total of three round trips a week between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert in the summer and takes about 20 hours. Staterooms and dining facilities are available on board and should be reserved well in advance of departure. 1-888-BC-FERRY or 1-888-223-3779.

Driving and Ferry From Prince Rupert

Drive to Prince Rupert via highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway). Upon arriving at Prince Rupert take the B.C. Ferries from Prince Rupert to Skidegate Landing on Graham Island. Skidegate is located approximately 100 km south of Masset. Once in Skidegate, the drive to Masset takes approximately 90 minutes along a very scenic road. The ferry crossing from Prince Rupert takes about 6 hours. Four crossings a week are scheduled for summer months and three in the winter. It is necessary that you make reservations with BC Ferries as soon as possible especially for travel during the very busy summer months. 1-888-BC-FERRY or 1-888-223-3779 or on the web at: www.bcferries.com

(Select Upcoming Schedule for next ferry timetable)

Once in Masset, see local map
