Dear Prospective Guest,

Re: Luxury Vacation Home Rental in Masset, B.C.

We offer 5 star accommodation and are the premier tourist class property in Masset which is situated at the extreme north end of the Queen Charlotte Islands. Our property is newly renovated and we propose to situate you in our newest property where we installed a brand new kitchen and new furnishings in April, 2000. We are pleased to offer you a special rate of $135/night including taxes which varies from the prices from the attachments which are provided.

We would also be pleased to provide you with the use of a free canoe and lifejackets, should you desire. Our family's favorite lake is Mayer Lake which you pass en route and mid point between your drive from Queen Charlotte City to Masset. The boat launch is only about a 5 minute drive from the main highway and we strongly recommend that you view the lake with its lily pads.

A brief description of our property appears below and we have sent our brochure and pictures under separate cover.

  • Extensive artwork which is all local from Queen Charlotte Islands artists featuring Bill Reid, Reg Davidson (brother of Robert Davidson who replaced Bill Reid) and gallery owner/artist David Hunter. We have also recently added to our collection "Blue School of Fish," by Debbie Gardiner which are salmon hand painted on silk and stitched. "WOW". Our second (and newest) property also includes art from Robert Bateman, a whale meandering in a kelp bed and a painting done by the well known Haida artist, Theodore Bell.

  • Designer Kitchen Cabinets with white melmac and oak trim from designer kitchen cabinet maker Merit Kitchen. Our second property features a brand new kitchen similar to our first property.

  • Solid oak furniture throughout from the bedroom suites to the kitchen table and chairs to the coffee table in the living room.

  • Top of the line Toshiba Cinema series Television, Panasonic (made in Japan) VCR, and Koss component stereo system. Masset Haida cablevision is also included.

  • Complimentary bicycles and canoe which we would include, without charge, for a longer stay based on double occupancy. The use of a canoe (with a value of $50/day) and three bicycles (two adult and one child with a value of $30/day) which requires permission and a signed waiver of liability form.

  • Loads of videos, puzzles, games, books and magazines for those quieter moments are provided without charge.

  • All Queen size beds with designer Sheet Sets from designer maker SpringMaid.

  • Nortel Telephones and GE Alarm Clock Radios.

  • A top of the line Sullivan computer desk with surge protector and telephone line access for those instructors that bring their computer for e-mail or Internet access. Our newest property provides you with a solid oak desk and hutch. (Sorry, internet access not provided at this time).

  • Glass table tops on the kitchen table and the computer desk.

  • 10 cubic foot freezer and washer and dryer are available.

  • Rectangular 2 ¼ acre lot treed at rear. Picnic tables to be produced by a local supplier, Mernie at the Coop and should be arriving soon.

  • and the list goes on and on . . .

Our lodge operates under two business names, Chinook Lodge for the sports fishermen market and Soaring Eagle Inn for the business/tourist market. We have both guest relations and a property manager on site in Masset.

Our rate for the entire three bedroom property with fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, 2 canoes and six bicycles, is comparable with the rate charged for a standard motel room (non kitchenette & non-renovated) property in Masset, exclusive of taxes. However, Chinook Lodge & Soaring Eagle Inn has the added advantage of spaciousness, privacy, quality art and furnishings and Haida Indian art in a house.

Terms and conditions appear on a separate enclosure.

A rate card is also enclosed.

Our accommodation is simply the very finest that you will find in Masset. A professional guest recently wrote us as follows.

"Pat and I would like to thank you and Jane for the opportunity to stay at the Chinook Lodge last weekend. The accommodations were superb. Although we spent most of our stay in Masset visiting the businesses, it was nice to come home to the Chinook Lodge to relax in the evenings and have a well rested sleep over night. I would recommend anyone to stay at your Lodge."
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,
